There is always that one point–that one instant–when things seem perfect.
That mid-point between light and dark. That instant of free-fall between going up and going down. The heavenly spheres move through the sky, the pendulum swings and, before you have a chance to truly grasp what is happening in that moment, chaos returns and you are left scrambling to catch up.
But there is that moment.
That perfect moment.
Or so we often think.
Many gravitate toward stasis. It is a place where everything is safe because we have time to take it all in. We have that time because nothing changes.
So many of us think that perfection lies in that static point.
It does not.
That kind of perfection is as false as it is unnatural.
The Universe is always moving, always changing. Even the Equinox is butt a fleeting moment in the every-progressing cycles of night and day, of season upon season. Even the pendulum continues to swing through that center point, continues to change direction after a moment of free fall at either extreme.
Our common idea of Perfection is flawed. That Perfection is flawed by its flawlessness.
There is no room for growth. No impetus for change. No movement.
If something becomes perfect in that way, it simply ceases to exist outside of its own little cocoon.
That kind of Perfection is not what you want to hold on to.
But, for a moment, it can be useful.
In that moment you are outside of everything. You can, if willing and able, catch a glimpse of the world you normally inhabit from a different perspective. You can use that fleeting view to better understand the motion you are thrust back into.
Enjoy that moment, but do not try to hold it.
Instead, learn from it… and then dive back into the dynamic and vibrant world of the living, growing and moving.
